How to setup and manage your CloudPBX UC (formerly CallSmart Unified) softphone for iPhones
Download and Install
Latest CloudPBX UC (iOS) v6.5.3 (September 2021) - Apple App Store

Download and Install Open the App Store on your device, search for CloudPBX UC and press Get to download and install the app |
Login Once installed, launch CloudPBX UC and login with your email address and the password provided. |
Main Views
The CloudPBX UC menu at the bottom of the app provides quick and easy access to the following screens

Phone Press to select the Phone dial pad and dial your contacts number |
Contacts Display current Contacts in your phone (if access allowed), your firms contacts (also known as buddies) and your Favourite contacts |
Call History Display Call History along with Missed Calls |
Messaging Open the Messaging window to collaborate with colleagues directly or via Rooms |
Quick Menu Provides access to your Voicemail, along with configured Actions |

The Settings View provides a large amount of information helpful when troubleshooting your CloudPBX UC as well as adjusting various settings, you can find this guide here
Making a Call
Press the Phone dialpad button on the bottom left menu and start typing the name or number

Dial via Number Start typing the number you want to dial, and the relevant contact will appear if saved on your device or in your Contacts list |
Dial via Name Start typing the name of the Contact you want to dial, and the relevant contact list will be filtered as you type. Press the name and number of the contact you wish to dial |
Calling Contacts
Press the Contacts button on the bottom menu to get started

Select Contact, Roster or Favorite First select the list you wish to find your Contact in, select Search and start typing the name or number to filter the Contacts list Contacts - These are your iPhone contacts (you need to have provided permission during the install/setup) Roster - These are your firms users and their numbers, which are automatically added Favorites - You can save commonly dialed Contacts here |
Dialing Contacts Contacts may have multiple numbers to choose from, simply press the number you wish to dial, then select Call for a normal Audio Call or Video to have a Video Call |
Answering Calls
Similar to answering a call on your iPhone, you will be presented with the call, slide to answer

Ringing - Locked When your iPhone is locked, you will receive the familiar slide to answer prompt to answer the call

Active - Locked Once answered, your iPhone will remain locked You will need to unlock the iPhone when prompted to use any of the CloudPBX UC features |
Active Call
During an active call, there are several buttons via the Active Call view, with a detailed description of each button below

Mute Cancel audio sent from the app |
Keypad Switch to keypad view to enter numbers when prompted by auto attendants or similar |
Speaker / Bluetooth Move the call between normal speaker, speaker mode and bluetooth (for connected and supported devices) |
Hold Places current call on hold |
Active Call - More
During an active call, pressing More will present you with additional features if configured

More Press more to display available options on an Active Call

Start/Stop Audio Recording This will record the audio of the call to your iPhone Note: You are responsible for adhering to the Privacy Laws in your region |
Transfer This button will allow you to select a Contact, Roster/Buddy to transfer the call to. Note: We don't recommend this method as the transfer is a Blind Transfer |
Start Video This will send Video immediately to your Contact. If they are using CloudPBX UC, they will then start to see the Video.

Transfer Call - Recommended Method
There are a few different methods when transferring a call, we recommend the following steps

Attended Transfer - Step 1 On the Active Call screen, press Add Call |
Attended Transfer - Step 2 Press Contacts, search for your Contact or Roster to transfer to and press their name |

Attended Transfer - Step 3 Press Call next to the number you have selected This will place the current call on hold and dial your Contact Note: If you press Transfer, this will transfer the call immediately which is a Blind Transfer |
Attended Transfer - Step 4 Once connected to your dialed Contact/Transferee, you can introduce the call

Attended Transfer - Cancel If your contact does not accept the call, you can either: Press the blue Switch Calls button to switch back to the original caller (recommended) Press the red Hangup button to terminate the call to the transferee and be automatically taken back to the original caller |
Attended Transfer - Complete If your contact accepts the call, press More, then press Transfer On occasions, the original caller's name or number may be listed next to Transfer to help identify where you are transferring the call |
Conference Call - Add contact
Adding another Contact to a call takes only a few steps on the CloudPBX UC

Conference Call - Step 1 On the Active Call screen, press Add Call |
Conference Call - Step 2 Press Contacts, search for your Contact or Roster to conference in and press their name |

Conference Call - Step 3 Press Call next to the number you have selected This will place the current call on hold and dial your selected Contact |
Conference Call - Step 4 Once connected to your dialed Contact/Transferee, you can introduce them to the call and invite them to join the conference

Conference Call - Cancel If your contact does not want to join the conference, you can either: Press the blue Switch Calls button to switch back to the original caller (recommended) Press the red Hangup button to terminate the call to the dialed Contact and be automatically taken back to the original caller |
Conference Call - Complete If your contact wants to join the conference, press Merge |
